I am searching out an awesome hair braider in SF. I want silky locks
(looks like dreads) and as quickly as possible. I know Amae is based in LA area. Does anyone know of someone in the Bay area? I just got the worst haircut of my life and Im dying here. HELP........

Thu, June 15, 2006 - 11:09 AMHi. I'm actually getting braids done on Saturday by Amma who's in the Western Addition. She comes recommended to me by a friend. I'll post a review or something when the job's done.
I don't know if she does silky locks but will ask. Feel your pain on the bad hair cut ;(

Mon, June 26, 2006 - 2:23 PMOK... Amma who did my braids did a great job ($200 for a full head of micro braids). She's also very quick. However, a week and a half later, and my hair is beginning to poke out through the braids. Granted I do have very short and straight hair.
My feeling is if your hair is long, the braids should stay in great shape. PM me if you want her contact info.
Anyone out there who can help with these stubborn poky hairs that are cramping my braid style? I thought about wrapping them up with some yarn. -
