i've got really long hair and have decided that i really wanna put it in braids. but i don't know anyone who does it or what the average cost is. i guess i'm a newbie and i was hoping maybe someone here would be able to direct me toward an able willing body. i would be willing to pay someone hopefully what it's worth. anyways happy planning to everyone in these next few weeks. thanks for helping me out :)

I use a girl in Sunnyvale, where do you live? You can usually find salons to do it for $200-$300 or you can find someone who does it from their home for about $20 an hour. It depends on how much hair you have and how long you want braids.

I've found that in the Bay Area (SF and Oakland), someone who does it out of their home will charge about $150 for a head of large braids, $175 for medium, and $200 for small braids.

Also, if you add synthetic hair, that will cost you a bit but not much.

I am in the Bay Area and do braids. However, my rates somewhat higher. I tend to mostly do medium and large braids-$250 and $300 respectively. This is with synthetic hair, which most girls want. I have a studio salon www.urbanrootshairstudio.com I'm not trying to use this tribe for advertising, but thought I would offer my services to those who are looking.
